The Association of Abandoned Animals (AAA) will be organising a three-day event at Bay Street tourist complex between today and Sunday, to promote animal awareness, particularly among children.

The programme will consist of various activities, including a dog show by the Rotweiler Club and a German Shepherd demonstration by Renè Scicluna's dog Floyd.

There will also be animated storytelling, arts and crafts, games and face painting.

Artist Miriam Sorrell will also be setting up an exhibition and sale of her paintings in the Artisan Market, the proceeds of which will go to the AAA, while the Royal Canine Club will be putting up a stand on animal cruelty in Malta.

Recently, a piece of land was donated to Freddie Fenech, who runs the AAA, and the money is needed to develop the land into a dog sanctuary. The present sanctuary at Luqa has reached full capacity with over 240 dogs.
