Unsightly 'love'

Why such a monstrosity at Spinola Bay? It not only spoils the surroundings but also takes up most of the pavement. It is a shame that the local council did not take action to oppose it. One has to look at this monstrosity quite a few times to guess...

One has to look at this monstrosity quite a few times to guess what it might be. Love, a word so amorous, should not be paraded in such an ugly fashion. Then I might be wrong because I am so used to looking at such a picturesque bay, with an unobstructed view from the other side of the road.

Personally, I would have preferred to have the very old, if not ancient, horse trough, hidden on the other side of the road, to be put in a prominent position and a plaque showing the date it was put there and its history.

St Julian's does look better with the lovely promenade and embellishment. It is truly one of the most beautiful parts of Malta. All we need now is to keep it clean and undamaged.
