Chantelle Fenech, a Form 3 student at St Monica School, Birkirkara, and Andrew Camilleri, of Stella Maris College, Gzira, have won an essay competition organised by Lions Club Mdina.

They had to write an essay on "Violence against the Weaker"

At the beginning of May the two students, accompanied by their parents, left for Rome to meet members of the Roma Lions Club and take part in a ceremony to celebrate the occasion.

The president and other members of the Roma Lions warmly welcomed Chantelle and Andrew and made their stay in Rome a truly memorable one. The two youngsters had the opportunity to meet Italian students who had also won similar competitions in Italy.

Dott.sa Maria Enrichetta Corona, one of the Roma Lions Club organisers, accompanied the two Maltese students to the Gran Teatro where the award ceremony took place.
