A jolly class of four- to five-year-olds of St Cecilia's Kindergarten recently presented a musical play, Under the Big Top, to their parents. This was held in the music room of the Junior School of St Edward's College.

This was an excellent experience for all the children, whose confidence grows through this type of exposure to an audience.

Furthermore, those boys currently attending St Cecilia's and who will be starting primary school at St Edward's College got to familiarise themselves with their new school.

The children sang and had lots of fun, miming as clowns, dancing bears and balancing elephants. An interactive atmosphere was created as the children formed a circus ring themselves while actively participating in the show.

The parents and children thoroughly enjoyed the close relationship between the audience and the performers.

Late last month, St Cecilia's Kindergarten organised Sports Day, which has now become an annual event, which is eagerly looked forward to by all the school.

Every child participated, starting with the youngest, who did some keep fit exercises with their teachers. Competitive races followed, including the 'brick and bucket' race, the 'hoola hoop' race and the potato race, besides several others.

The parents were naturally overjoyed to watch their little ones 'competing' at their first sports day. The lovely grounds of St Edward's College were the perfect venue for this entertaining event.

The headmaster of St Edward's College, Mr Anthony J. Saliba, and the head of the Junior School, Mrs Anne Tabone, handed out some of the medals.
