Allow me to show my appreciation at the work presently being carried out at the Inquisitor's Palace, in Vittoriosa.

Notwithstanding that I live in the Cottonera area, it had been at least 10 years since I last visited the palace. It was a very shabby place then, much of the rooms were closed to the public and there was no information available at all on the building itself and on the few objects on display.

Despite all the present shortcomings of the site, it being at present an open working site, the palace is clean and well managed. Upon entering one is presented with an informative leaflet and a booklet on the palace's prisons is also available for sale.

Information panels abound and in spite of the loads of work which still need to be done, a short chat with the museum staff makes one immediately realise the effort they are putting into their job and how much they care for the place. This is immediately evidenced by the tremendous progress that the palace has registered in recent years. It is a place definitely worth a visit.

Well done to all those involved and loads of luck to Heritage Malta for the work that it has to do in the future to conserve and present our heritage.
