The gross domestic product in the 15 EU member states grew by 0.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2003, according to Eurostat, the same rate of growth as in the first quarter of 2002.

GDP in the 12 member states that form the eurozone remained stable with 0.0 per cent growth in the first quarter of 2003. The eurozone is made up of Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
