Malta's chief sport venues saw plenty of action yesterday as the 10th Games of the Small States of Europe entered their second day of competition. Maltese athletes enjoyed their fair share of success yesterday, winning four silver and four bronze medals to take the nation's overall tally to 15.

Swimmer Angela Galea was the toast of the country yesterday as she equalled her own national record on her way to winning a silver medal in the 100m butterfly. Galea then helped Malta's 4x200m freestyle team to establish a new national mark when claiming a bronze medal.

Frans Pace emulated his silver medal feat of two years ago in San Marino when placing second in the trap event.

Two other silver medals and three bronze were obtained by Maltese judokas at St Aloysius College.
