The synod assembly was formally concluded on April 24. Led by Mgr Mercieca, it started on September 29, 1999, with wide consultation in society. Some 100,000 people took part, coming up with eight themes for the synod's study.

The documents on the conclusions reached by the synod participants will be presented to Mgr Mercieca on Saturday. They will be published after they are approved.
