We would like to share a pleasurable experience, which happened to us one Monday when having to go to Qormi to get our car checked, we were asked to return in two hours.

We went to look for a cup of coffee, making our way to Cannon Road, where my wife spotted a garden centre which she had always wanted to visit. Myself coming from a horticultural family I thought it would be a good idea.

We looked around and saw all the plants, commenting on some we knew, when an employee came up to us and asked us if we had visited before. We said no and he offered us a guided tour. That was the start of a wonderful three quarters of an hour, ending in the ultimate experience of a visit to their secret garden, even being introduced to Uncle Sam, hidden away taking cuttings and propagating all kinds of plants. The house must have been grand in its day, having such a large garden. The end of the tour was to see the site of old holding pens for bulls held in quarantine, before being sold. I would like to thank the man who took us round for I never got his name. It makes a nice change to be shown around without being forced to make a purchase. We will certainly go back, next time with our camera.
