The SPCA's one-day fair, aimed at raising money for its new animals' home, attracted so many people that practically everything was sold out by early afternoon. The fair was held at the scouts' headquarters in Floriana.
The money raised should help the society to come closer to achieving its goals, which include a national neutering programme and new premises.
SPCA president Barbara Cassar Torreggiani said they had no idea how much was needed for the new premises since it all depended on whether they had a barren plot of land or not.
"The new premises cannot be in a residential area and it has to be an adequate place for the animals," she said.
