Suggestions submitted by Bank of Valletta employees under the staff suggestion scheme during the first quarter of this year represented a 45 per cent increase over the figures for the previous quarter and a 22 per cent increase over the number of suggestions sent in during same quarter last year.

During the award ceremony, Igino Xuereb, chief officer, retail banking, at Bank of Valletta presented the Best Suggestion Award to Arthur Ellul from the bank's data and support operations centre. Martin Mangion, from San Gwann's BoV branch, won the Best Suggestor Award having registered the highest percentage of accepted suggestions from those submitted.

The bank's quality department intends to launch an awareness campaign designed to further increase the number of submitted suggestions.
