Cash and goods were stolen from a shop in Spencer Road, Marsa early yesterday morning, by someone who forced the main door, while cash was also stolen from a shop on the Ghaxaq Bypass in a separate robbery.

The shop in Ghaxaq was also damaged in the crime, police said yesterday.

Investigations are underway.

In the meantime, the police have arrested a person in connection with a hold-up at a pharmacy in Paola, who is expected to be arraigned in court soon.

The robber, wielding a knife, had stolen around Lm500 in cash in the daring daylight theft on Saturday afternoon.

The police were also successful in solving another crime, this time a theft from an outlet in Sliema, and expect to arraign two foreign women.

The police on Friday charged two other Bulgarian women with similar crimes in Valletta in the days prior to the crime in Sliema.
