Minister Giovanna Debono recently visited the Health Promotion Week stands at the entrance hall of the Ninu Cremona Boys' Secondary School and Junior Lyceum.

The event was co-ordinated by the school's home economics teacher, Christine Scerri, in collaboration with the Gozo co-ordinator of Skolasport. Participants in the activity included Good Earth, the Health Promotion Unit, Benna, the OASI Foundation and Nestlé Malta.

The school set up a three-day health promotion programme to mark World Health Day, honouring this year's theme "Healthy Environments for Children."

Health-related issues were promoted among children and parents, drawing awareness to the comsequences of bad eating habits. Sampling of healthy foods, dietary guidelines and exercise and fitness programmes were promoted during the event.

A healthy food pyramid was set up alongside an inverted one which depicted the current diet of the students. Talks and exibitions were held on healthy eating and fitness. This was followed by demonstrations on preparing healthy snacks and tasting samples.
