Summer dance course

Janet Vella is the driving force of this year's summer dance course which will run from July 7 till September 7.

Janet, who started her training at the Tanya Bayona Poutiatine Academy of Ballet, has just returned from a two-year stay in the UK where she trained at the London Studio Centre for six months. She was also teaching jazz dance at the Montage Theatre in London and at King'S Theatre in Kent.

She was chosen to choreograph for the yearly Oxfam charity fashion show and also had the great opportunity to assist Patrick Alan, a hip-hop dancer/teacher at Pineapple Studios in London.

Joining her will be Nicola Fenech, who also trained at Tanya Bayona's Academy. She took part in various TV programmes, locally and abroad. she attended courses at a renowned school of ballet in Monte Carlo and at the former étoiles of the Opera de Paris. She has also been recently teaching at a local ballet school.

Both Janet and Nicola are qualified AISTD teachers.

The dance course will offer classes in Jazz - funky and lyrical, hip-hop, flamenco, dancing to rhthym and choreography, culminating in a performance demonstrating the students' work during the course.

Students, male and female, of all ages and abilities, are guaranteed exciting and rewarding opportunities, challenges and expert tuition enabling them to learn about dance and about themselves, growing in confidence as they acquire new skills and meet new friends.

Students interested in registering can attend the free dance taster day on July 28.
