A fight which broke out in Paceville on Saturday night led to the arrest of a 21-year old Arab man who offered the police stiff resistance.

The police said that as the man was being marched into the mobile police station in Paceville, he kicked the door of the station and injured a police officer in the process.

He was then escorted to the St Julian's police station but kept up his resistance, wreaking havoc and causing damage, the police said. The mobile police squad had to be called in.

He is expected to be arraigned shortly.
