Most of the 122 athletes in Malta's GSSE squad were urged by MOC Director of Sport Pippo Psaila to believe more in their abilities and give their all for the country on Thursday. The rally for athletes, at the University Sports Complex, was the last one ahead of the Malta 2003 Games between June 2 and 7. The Malta contingent will be the biggest since the GSSE were established in 1985. The previous record was that of 2001 in San Marino - 94. The youngest member in the squad is 10-year-old sailor Sean Borg. Those present were also addressed by MOC president Lino Farrugia Sacco who thanked the government for its constant backing and significant investment in sports infrastructure.
