A dance spectacle inspired by the popular soundtracks of Walt Disney cartoons is being put up by the La Stella Youth Group and the 234 Organisation at the Astra Theatre, in Victoria today at 8 p.m.
Disney's Greatest... is being coordinated by Antonella Zammit and seeks to promote the social and cultural life for young people in Gozo.
The young dancers, aged between four and 25 will be tapping their feet to the soundtrack of favourite cartoons such as Tarzan, Prince of Egypt, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.
Internationally acclaimed singers, including Phil Collins and Whitney Houston, have lent their voice to singles in the much sought Walt Disney cartoons soundtrack albums.
Although inspired by this music, the production will be staging a series of choreographies transmitting the fun, youthful and joyous spirit behind most songs.
The three choreographers behind Disney's Greatest... include Jaclyn Attard, Georgianne Cachia and Ramona Cassar, assisted by Amy Attard, Charlene Galea and Louise Zammit.
The set's construction is in the hands of Manuel Buhagiar, Emanuel John Farrugia, George Mercieca and a number of youngsters, under the direction of Carmel Zammit.
George Camilleri, George Farrugia and Manuel Grima are preparing the wardrobe.
