I was really amazed when on May 5, about 11 p.m., I saw two teenagers in the fountain situated in the middle of the traffic island in The Strand, Sliema trying repeatedly to shatter the lights in it.

A friend of mine called the police and a police car arrived on the scene.

While the constable helped his way out of the car, he spoke to the guys for two minutes and ordered them off the fountain, as he slowly marched towards his car.

I could not help my curiosity, so I went to check out the vandalised fountain, to find shattered glass and stones that were used to cause the damage! Is this the perfect way to stop vandalism?
