Private and Church schools must provide school booklists to all the book suppliers who requested them, the finance ministry said, referring to a decision on the matter taken last year by the Office for Fair Competition.

The ministry said the office was this year again receiving complaints from book suppliers that schools were not providing their booklists.

The office would take the necessary action against schools not abiding by the decision, it warned.

Furthermore, schools which would like to enter into an exclusive agreement with a book supplier by means of a tendering system require individual exemption from the office.
