The Malta Environment and Planning Authority determined 590 applications in April and received 697 new ones, leaving a pending net caseload at the end of that month of 3,080.
It also issued 61 stop and enforcement notices.
Thirty enforcement cases were sanctioned through a development permit, 30 illegal structures were removed by their owners and six cases were withdrawn. Two direct operations were also carried out by Mepa: the removal of illegal structures in Pietà and Victoria, and sealing off of a take-away outlet in Zabbar.
