The 30th edition of the GFA Cup will be contested by rivals Ghajnsielem and Nadur Youngsters.

In the semi-finals, Ghajnsielem strolled to a 5-0 victory over Qala St Joseph while Nadur Youngsters needed a golden goal to see off Zebbug Rovers, 2-1.

Ghajnsielem dominated their match against relegated side Qala St Joseph.

They moved into a two-goal lead in the first half with goals by Dione Lautier (13th) and Aloysius Ihbeulu (44th). After the break, the Blacks rubber-stamped their win with three more goals by Ihbeulu (47th), substitute Joe Debono (84th) and Tarik Belhaj (91st).

The match between champions Nadur and Zebbug was more balanced. Nadur gained the lead in the 18th minute through Brazilian striker Edoardo do Nascimento, Bizu.

The Zebbug clan claimed that Bizu's opener should not have been allowed to stand but their protests only resulted in their coach and a substitute player being sent off from the bench.

Zebbug were unlucky in the 28th minute when Manwel Cordina had a shot stopped by the post.

In the 63rd minute, Nadur had Mark Buttigieg dismissed by referee Anton Zammit.

Zebbug were also reduced to ten players in the 78th minute when Mario Azzopardi was given his marching orders.

Nine minutes from time, the Rovers forced an equaliser through Alex Tramboo, to send the match into extra-time.

Zebbug's Cordina missed a 'golden' opportunity to see his side through to the final. The golden goal eventually came but it was Nadur who claimed it when Bizu scored to finish off a good action by Anthony Portelli.

The GFA Cup final will be played on June 1 at 4 p.m.
