Clear choice for MLP

The fate of the Labour Party will be sealed today.

Delegates have a clear choice, they either want the party to remain in opposition sine die or else make the necessary changes so that the MLP will once again be credible and electable.

It is now too late for Alfred Sant to say that he will listen. He should have listened in 1998, when he was advised not to go for an early general election, and he should have seen the writing on the wall this year before going to the polls.

Hats off to the two contestants who had the courage to stand up and be counted at this vital moment for the MLP.

May one of them emerge as the winner from this contest for the benefit of the MLP. Of course, it is not just Dr Sant who has to go. The senior party officials must also give way.

I, as a genuine Labour supporter, and a non-delegate, have only one choice at this stage. Wait, with fingers crossed.
