Men's team to play in Sicily as GSSE squads announced

Joe Galea's national team will be travelling to Sicily tomorrow to play in a quadrangular tournament in their build-up for the Games of the Small States of Europe next month.

The men's team, also benefiting from the expert advice of Spanish federation coach Antonio De Torres Moreno, will play against Catania, Ragusa and Ribera. The matches will be part of a three-day training camp for the team which will be based in Priolo.

Besides Galea and De Torres Moreno, the squad will also include four other members of the technical staff who will assist the coaches during the training sessions. The group returns late on Sunday.

The women's national team, who did remarkably well last week in a tournament involving the national teams of England and Scotland and an Italian Selection, will also make the short trip to Sicily next week (May 23-25) to continue with their intensive preparations for the GSSE.

Meanwhile, the official list of players for the GSSE was issued by the Malta Basketball Association earlier this week.
