An Air Malta flight to Paris, returning to Malta via Lourdes, was not operated yesterday after a public sector strike over pensions paralysed transport in France.

About 60 outbound passengers were stranded and a similar number are still in Lourdes waiting to return to Malta, airline sources said.

The airline will operate a flight to Paris this morning depending on developments in France.

Air Malta said it was doing its utmost to assist passengers and ease the inconvenience.

Passengers are asked to phone flight inquiries on 2496000 for up-to-date information.
