An Englishman was yesterday charged with seriously injuring a man in an argument after a car accident.

Tristan Scott Haynes, 34, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring David Shephard and slightly injuring Joseph Attard in Swieqi on Sunday at about 10 p.m.

He was also charged with involuntarily causing damage to Attard's car, breaching the peace and obstructing the flow of traffic.

Haynes was denied bail.

Police Inspectors Kevin Farrugia and Simon Galea prosecuted.

Dr Malcolm Mifsud and Dr Ian Micallef appeared for the defendant.

Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared in parte civile for the victims.
