The Media Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed an electronic playmate for children, in the form of a computer-generated image of a child that can participate in a storytelling play with other children.

The virtual child was one of the topics in a talk organised by the Computer Society of Malta in collaboration with the Malta Council for Science and Technology.

The speaker, Justine Cassell, is an associate professor at the Media Lab.
