Austin Bencini certainly does not need me to stick up for him but I would like to correct Arnold Cassola's assertion that "it is certainly not in my style to personally attack anybody".

Does he remember the day when, outside Café Premier, in Valletta, I said "hello" only for him to turn to a German Green dignitary he was with and say that "this is the worst journalist in Malta".

Dr Cassola, like many in Old Labour, appear to be intolerant to any criticism. Incidentally, after he left the German dignitary, he apologised to me for Dr Cassola's behaviour. I told him not to worry as in Malta we tend to get overheated!

But it is strange behaviour from those who portray themselves as whiter than white Greens! It is easy to preach tolerance, much harder to practise it...
