12 more nominations for casual elections

The Electoral Commission yesterday received 12 more nominations for the casual elections in various districts to fill parliamentary seats vacated by candidates who were elected in more than one district.

The nominations were for Owen Bonnici in the third district (MLP seat vacated by George Vella); Anna Schiavone in the fifth district (PN seat vacated by Louis Galea); Joseph Falzon, Franco Galea, Ian Micallef and Albert Rizzo in the ninth district (PN seat vacated by Francis Zammit Dimech); Franco Galea, George Hyzler and Michael Refalo in the 10th district (PN seat vacated by Joe Borg); Martin Debono in the 10th district (MLP seat vacated by Evarist Bartolo); Josef Bonnici and Rennie Deguara in the 11th district (PN seat vacated by Eddie Fenech Adami).

No nominations were made yesterday for the MLP seat in the eighth district vacated by Alfred Sant.

Nominations close tomorrow.

As the casual elections are being held on Thursday, the office of the electoral commission in Valletta and of the ID card offices in Valletta and Victoria will be closed to the public on that day.
