The Fort St Elmo School of Painters.

Six retired army officers are holding a second exhibition of their art works at Fort St Angelo in Vittoriosa, tomorrow and on Sunday.

John Borg Manduca, Brig. Maurice Calleja, Brig. Claude Gaffiero, Capt. Eric Gerada Azzopardi, Major Martin Scicluna and Major Philip Zammit Briffa - collectively known as the Fort St Elmo School of Painters - last held an exhibition in May 2000 when they raised thousands of liri for the Malta Hospice Movement.

This time their focus is the Eden Foundation, although they will also be making a contribution towards the transport of a sick person for the Sovereign Military Order of Malta's international pilgrimage to Lourdes.

The 42 paintings are all for sale. They are predominantly of Maltese landscapes in oils and watercolour.

Between them, the artists have 165 years of army service, starting their careers at St Elmo.

The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is being held at the fort courtesy of the SMOM Grand Master and the Knight Resident Fra John Critien.
