A number of foreign teams will be visiting the islands next month to play a series of friendlies against local opposition at the Marsa sports ground.

The most attractive fixture of all should be the May 8 match between Malta A and Cardiff Academy, a side containing the cream of youth Welsh rugby players.

Ragusa RFC, who hosted the Malta A selection recently in Sicily, will also be here. They will play a triangular tournament with Kavallieri Barbarians and the Cardiff Academy on May 11.

A Malta League Select will face Matlock RFC in a friendly in late May while Millwall RFC, Old and Bold RFC, Royal Veterinary College, St Bernadettes RFC, Old Haileyburians RFC and Aylsford RFC will also be in Malta for warm-up games against MRFU teams and the Malta Veterans side.
