Community radio station Lehen il-Qala is holding a series of fund-raising activities on Thursday. The station, a Broadcasting Authority award winner, which first went on air on July 25, 1996, depends on donations.
A series of live programmes will be aired from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The activity will involve live links with Qala's main square, where the fund-raising activities will be taking place, including car washes, pony rides for children, a march by the Qala band Ite ad Joseph, a dance show by Qala Youths, a tombola night and an evening of ghana at Qala primary school.
Lynn Chircop, who will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest will attend, and members from the Civil Protection, who will give a display of rescue skills. There will also be links with the Australian Qala Association.
The radio station aims to collect Lm1,500. Everyone is welcome to visit the station's studios on the day.
