28th Gozo marathon today
The Gozo Amateur Athletic Association, in conjunction with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, and in collaboration with Xaghra council, is holding the 28th Gozo marathon today. This is the biggest athletic event in Gozo, held under MAAA regulations.

This is the biggest athletic event in Gozo, held under MAAA regulations. It will be sponsored by San Michel mineral water, Xaghra council and the Ministry for Gozo.
The half marathon, 20.8km long, starts from Xaghra square at 9.30 a.m., proceeding to Marsalforn, Victoria, Sannat, Xewkija, Ghajnsielem, Qala, Nadur and finishing on Xaghra square. Another race, 12.8km long, will also start at 9.30 a.m. It will follow the same route, excluding Ghajnsielem and Qala.
There will also be a four-km run for students aged 12 to 16, a two-km run for students aged under 12, and a two-km fun run open to all those who want to participate without competing. The two-km run and the fun run fun run leave Xaghra Square at 8.30 a.m., and the four-km run leaves at 8.45 a.m.
After the marathon, 95 trophies will be awarded to all the winners and each participant will be presented with a small memento.
