Housewife wins The Times wordgame
Mondial Holidays tour of the Costa Brava
Sue Magri could not believe her luck when she was informed that her name was drawn as The Times Wordgame winner, especially as the prize was a visit to Spain, which was actually the number one destination on her wish list.
Ms Magri, 36, from Salina, guessed the six nine-letter words in the series which ended on April 12, winning a Mondial Holidays tour of the Costa Brava and a Mediterranean cruise.
The tour leaves Malta on June 4, arriving in Barcelona in the evening.
The Times' Wordgame has become a ritual for Ms Magri who often gets a helping hand from her father.
Ms Magri, a married housewife with a seven-year-old son, said she always dreamt of Spain as providing the ultimate in relaxation.
"The culture, the people, the architecture, seem mesmerising," a beaming Ms Magri said.
She will have the chance to visit Barcelona, Universal Studios at Port Aventura, Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Girona, Tordera and the splendid Gran Palace Show.
Another optional excursion is Port Aventura, Europe's second largest and newest adventure theme park, and to the spectacular monastery of Montserrat.
The tour will then move on to the small independent state of Andorra, in the heart of the Pyrenees, driving through beautiful mountain scenery.
On the sixth day, the tour will take in the port of Barcelona from where participants embark on the cruise liner SS Oceanic, a 39,000-tonne ship with a capacity for 1,300 passengers.
The cruise arrives at Grand Harbour on June 11.
This prize will be complemented by a Lm50 voucher to spend at the Malta International Airport tax-free centre and a year's membership of the Scrabble Club.
