Education officials from a number of small states will be in Malta to attend a conference on "School evaluation - best practices in small states".
The conference, being held between Monday and Wednesday, is being organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat with the Ministry of Education and the University of Malta.
Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General Winston Cox will speak at the opening ceremony.
Representatives from Commonwealth countries including Fiji Islands, The Gambia, Jamaica, Malta, St Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UK will attend.
A Commonwealth Secretariat publication - "Educational planning and management in small states: concepts and experiences", edited by Charles Farrugia and Godfrey Baldacchino, will be launched at the University of Malta during the conference.
The publication presents the critical reflections of 18 senior officials working in 12 small states on the management and planning of education.
