He should know that Malta won whenever the Nationalist Party was elected to govern.

Malta won in 1962-1970, when it became an independent nation and when confrontation with the Church ceased.

Malta won in 1987-1996, when democracy was restablished in Malta, when freedom of expression was allowed and when violence and the disregard of human and civil rights became only ugly scars in Malta's history.

And now again, Malta has won. A new era has begun with Malta becoming a member of the European family.
