A Somali man was yesterday given a one-year jail term suspended for a year for seriously injuring a soldier.
Mohammed Jama, 34, pleaded guilty to threatening and injuring lance bombardier David Said at the Safi barracks on February 26 at about 6 p.m.
He was also charged with breaching the conditions of a previous release.
Jama said he had applied for refugee status.
Police Inspectors Neville Xuereb and Jason Agius prosecuted.
