Phoenician Experience schedule announced

The nine-day yachting adventure, 'The Phoenician Experience', being held between July 9 and 17, is gradually gaining interest and support among the local yachting community. In fact, the organisers are already receiving various enquiries and a number of confirmations too. The first yachts to be registered were powerboats Mavana II, a 58-footer, and Se La Vie, a 45-footer. They will be skippered by Philip Attard and Jackie Farrugia respectively.

Meanwhile, the organising committee, made up of Roland Darmanin Kissaun, Lawrence Camilleri, Richard Tua, Wilfred Sultana, Anthony Camilleri, Victor Calleja, and Moufida Rezgui, have announced the programme of activities making up the 650-kilometres Malta-Tunisia passage race.

While participants in 'The Experience' will be provided with free berthing facilities at all three Tunisian marinas, the organisers have already secured an array of trophies for the event.

These include the Bavaria Yachts Trophy, the S&D Yachts Trophy, the Unique Travel Trophy, the Yorkie Clothing Trophy and the Yachting in Malta Guidebook Trophy.

Meanwhile, the new 248-room five-star Hotel Iberostar Lalla Baya, located right on the sandy beach of Hammamet, close to the Yasmine Marina, will host family members and friends of competitors, who would be joining the race community in Tunisia. In this regard, Unique Travel Ltd, in collaboration with Tuninter, are presenting a special package.
