The Director General, Food and Veterinary Regulation Division within the Ministry of Agriculture and in consultation with the Food Safety Commission said that importation of fishery products in any form intended for human consumption, is authorised only from EU-approved establishments based in a number of countries.

In regards to China, the importation is limited to certain products which have to be tested for specific contaminants at the expense of the importer.
