One understands how a run of similar histories under the Nationalist government with a 15 year stint, barely penetrated by a floundering opposition, might seriously tempt the voter to punish the perpetrator by withholding a pro-Europe vote.
I urge all those who find themselves severely tested at this time to put the greater good of the nation ahead of personal and community injury: Look at the larger picture. Without Europe, this country will slide back into the pit we have been determined to leave behind.
Alternattiva Demokratika core voters will not be missed by the PN if they vote number one as they have been doing so for successive elections. Voters who choose Europe above their own party may feel at ease giving their number one to AD this time around.
The rest would do well to exercise their right, even their obligation after voting Iva for Europe. They may follow up their number one vote to the PN with a number two vote to AD (most importantly in the eighth district) and then continue on the PN candidates if and as they see fit.
Only a responsible use of the ballot will ensure our entry into Europe with the Greens firmly in place to ensure the hard-won EU directives are faithfully implemented.
