The Central Bank of Malta last week reminded the public that the Third Series Lm1 bank note, which ceased to be legal tender ten years ago, will remain exchangeable only until April 30. Any bank notes should, therefore, be exchanged at all banks until Thursday, April 17, or at the Central Bank of Malta until 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.

The bank note, which is brownish/greyish in colour, shows a map of the Maltese Islands, the former coat of arms of the Republic of Malta and a watch tower on the front. Images of Malta's national plant Palaeocyanus crassifolius (Widnet-il-Bahar) and of the New University building (now G.F. Abela Junior College), Msida, appear on the back.

This note will be worthless after April 30.
