The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has informed farmers, herdsmen and fishermen that they can apply for a refund of half the social security contributions they paid throughout last year.

Those who are self-employed, full-time or full members of a cooperative have been asked to apply for the refund at an Extension Service office in Mosta, Rabat, Siggiewi or Zabbar, or at the Agriculture Department in Victoria, during office hours.

The deadline is April 30.

Farmers, herdsmen and fishermen who were not in time to apply for a refund on 2001 can still do so.
