Corkskrew recently released their latest single, Superstar, the eighth single from their debut album Micromania.

This video to this song was recorded over the Christmas period at De La Salle College.

The video is currently being aired on local tv stations. Previous songs released from the album include Spyro gyra, Love and paradise, Another day, Manic, 13, Slap me and Jumping genes.

With things heating up in the local political arena, the music video comes as a breath of fresh air! While respecting the importance of the role of politicians in our society, Corkskrew's video conveys a message that the Maltese tend to take politicians a bit too seriously - almost elevating them to the status of 'superstars'.

Despite being a love song, the Superstar video downplays the importance of Malta's heated political debate by depicting the clash between two politicians (roles played by actors Jes Camilleri and Colin Fitz) and the way music tends to be a more powerful medium than political discourse. Towards the end of the video, both politicians end up joining forces in some serious fun.

The video was produced by Blaze Productions and Corkskrew under the directorship of Chris Pace and Mario Ellul.

The video was made possible thanks to the help of Nexos Lighting, Sound System, Studio 7, Sign It, John and Paul Preca Trapani, Robert of Fotoclassic, and the rector of De La Salle College, Br Martin. Corkskrew thanks all the extras who participated in the video shoot.

Diane Micallef, vocalist and front woman of Corkskrew, said: "Producing and filming our own video was a unique experience. We believe that this production will be very useful in promoting the band locally and abroad."
