The Foundation for Human Resources Development has invited John Campbell, vice-president (human resources) Citibank NA and CIPD vice-president, inter-national, to address its bi-annual general meeting.
Mr Campbell's talk will draw on CIPD's research which covers the key factors for success in international HRM, as well as the interventions that HR professionals can make during major structural changes such as those that are generated during mergers and acquisitions.
He will provide some general background on the potential impact of European legislation and will also highlight the critical factors in organisation restructuring. This can then be used as the basis for discussion of how this can be applied in the Maltese context, considering possible implications of accession into the EU.
As vice president for human resources Citibank NA, Mr Campbell is responsible for reward and recognition for the integrated banking business (corporate and consumer) in central and eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Indian sub-continent ('CEEMEA'). The business is present in 40 countries and has over 15,000 employees.
The FHRD's bi-annual general meeting will be held on April 10 between 4 and 5 p.m. at its premises at Marsa Industrial Estate. Members may attend free of charge. Non-members pay Lm20 (VAT inclusive).
