Sunday at the Bidnija ranges was the final day of a two-day Trap competition (125+25). The prize at stake was the F&C Construction Trophy but more importantly for the Elite shooters, it was the third of five selection shoots for the GSSE.
It was a memorable weekend with all the top contenders taking a professional stance. The level that Frans Pace and Horace Micallef had set in the first two selection shoots probably instigated this approach.
This brought on a high standard of shooting which produced eight scores that superseded the 112-clay MQS!
Nazzareno Attard shot methodically well and demonstrated an excellent technique which he maintained over the whole weekend.
He finished the competition stage on 118 clays topped by a 22 in the final to secure the win with a creditable 140.
A 25-straight helped the in-form Antoine Bugeja move closer to Attard and a merited second place on the podium. Pace was third.
