A 21-year-old man was yesterday charged with the possession of heroin and cocaine in circumstances denoting they were not for his personal use.

Alan Vella, of Hamrun, pleaded not guilty to the possession of just under half a kilogramme of heroin and some 20 grammes of cocaine on and before Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Vella.
