A man who threatened and assaulted two police sergeants when he was drunk last month has been conditionally discharged for a year.

Jimmy Fenech, 34, pleaded guilty to threatening and assaulting PS Joseph Cremona and PS Pierre Calleja, disobeying police orders, offending public morals, swearing in public and breaching the peace in St Julian's on February 15 at about 1.45 a.m.

Police Inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted.
