The headmaster of Ampleforth College, a leading Catholic independent school in the UK, will be visiting Malta from Friday to April 3, accompanying the first overseas tour by girls of the school.
Fr Leo Chamberlain, who retires as headmaster at the year's end, will meet parents and 20 of the numerous Old Amplefordians of Malta.
He will also meet Edward Saliba, headmaster of St Edward's College, Cottonera, from where four boys will be joining Ampleforth in September.
Anyone wishing to meet him should contact Lt Col R. de R Channer, e-mail derenzy@waldonet.net.mt, tel. 2146 6649.
Traditionally known as a boys school, Ampleforth College, now in its 200th year, has opened its sixth form to boarding girls, and will become fully co-educational from next year when girls of 13-plus will be admitted.
The school is located in North Yorkshire in a valley on the edge of a national park, and is run by the Benedictine monks of Ampleforth Abbey, the country's largest monastery.
