Fund raising hair and beauty marathon

Hairdryers started blowing and scissors snipping yesterday as the 36-hour hair and beauty marathon kicked off in the morning in aid of the Eden Foundation and the Oasi Foundation, in Gozo.

The marathon, in its eighth edition, is being held by the School of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Some 150 students, as well as established hairdressers and beauty therapists, and more than 120 personalities are taking part.

The event continues until 11 p.m. today when special guest Terry Docherty, a popular international hairstylist brought over by Wella, will demonstrate her skills.

Last year, the marathon managed to raise Lm34,000 through phone-in donations and services. It is being held at Studio 7 TV studios at the Birkirkara Bypass and is being televised live on Education 22.
