This summer yachting enthusiasts are in for an exciting and enjoyable time with an event highlighting a historical connotation in its title.
The Phoenician Experience will present both sailing and powerboats with an eight-day journey. This will take participants from Malta to Lampedusa, Monastir, El Kantaoui, and Hammamet - an approximate 650kms of Mediterranean seafaring adventure as done in ancient days by the famous Phoenicians.
'The Phoenician Experience' sets off on Wednesday, July 9 with the sailing entries. Powerboats leave the next day. The 'Experience' ends up at Hammamet on July 17.
It has already been confirmed that participants will be provided free berthing facilities at all three Tunisian marinas, while with the enthusiastic support of competent Maltese and Tunisian authorities and sponsors, the organisers are presently finalising the event's programme, which will be announced shortly.
Furthermore, concurrently with the racing event, the organisers are also planning a flights-and-accommodation package for family members and friends of competitors, who would like to join the racing community in Tunisia.
The organising committee is made up of Roland Darmanin Kissaun, Lawrence Camilleri, Richard Tua, Wilfred Sultana, Anthony Camilleri, Victor Calleja and Moufida Rezgui.
