Smart Supermarket of Birkirkara have launched two new initiatives to improve the environment in their locality.

The first scheme has been the issue of recyclable shopping bags to all customers applying in a Loyalty Scheme under which the recyclable bags earn participants free bonus points in a gift exchange system.

In compliance with the policies on eco-friendly operations, Smart has also introduced recycling deposit facilities on their premises for glass, metal, paper and plastics.

Inaugurating the project, Birkirkara mayor Tonio Fenech commended Smart Supermarket for the introduction of their recycling schemes and appealed to customers to continue with their support.
